A very good experience with Eazyclick creating the Black Kats website.

The team quickly understood our world and expectations, and did more than simply execute the initial brief. They went further, notably helping us identify and develop elements still missing from our visual identity.

Communication was straightforward and efficient, and the team always listened. The final result really meets our expectations.

We recommend them!

What is a digital strategy for a small business?

A digital strategy means deciding what your business does online, in what order and for what result. For a small business, it fits on one page: a measurable goal (enquiries, bookings, sales), two or three chosen channels, a budget and a way to check what's working.

An example: a neighbourhood brasserie

Take a brasserie that wants to fill its tables on weekdays. Its digital strategy doesn't start with TikTok. It starts with an up-to-date Google profile (opening hours, menu, photos), a website that's easy to read on a phone with online booking, and a review request sent after every meal. Social media comes next, to show the dish of the day. Every action serves the same goal, and each can be measured.

Different digital strategies

There are generally four strategies: attracting new customers, bringing existing ones back, raising your profile locally and turning visits into enquiries. A small business doesn't need to pursue all four at once. Choose the one that addresses your current challenge, and the digital maturity test will help you identify it.

The 5 drivers of a digital strategy that pays off

The five drivers of digital marketing for a small business are your website, visibility on Google and in AI, social media, online advertising and customer relationships through email and CRM. These are also the topics covered by our test's 10 questions, which tell you where to focus first.

  • Your website: this is where your ads, posts and Google searches lead. It needs to be fast, easy to read on a phone, and explain in one sentence what you do and for whom. See our website creation service.
  • Your visibility on Google and in AI: a complete Google profile, recent customer reviews and pages that answer your customers' questions. That's the role of our visibility on Google and in AI solution, and SEO Boost for publishing every month. Answers from ChatGPT or Perplexity matter too: our GEO guide explains how to appear in them.
  • Social media: useful for showing your work and staying front of mind, as long as you post regularly on one or two chosen platforms, not five. See social media management.
  • Online advertising: it brings in enquiries from the first week, as long as the budget keeps running. Google Ads focused on your most profitable services and your area, with cost-per-contact tracking. To choose between the two approaches, read SEO or SEA.
  • Customer relationships: a CRM to track your enquiries and quotes, and email marketing to bring customers back, for example through a newsletter. Bringing a customer back often takes less effort than finding a new one.

Your visual identity connects all five: the same colours and tone, wherever people encounter you.

Digital strategy or digital marketing strategy: what's the difference?

A digital marketing strategy helps you attract customers online through search visibility, advertising, social media and content. A digital strategy goes further, covering the tools that run your business too, such as CRM, quotes, invoices and online booking. Marketing brings in the enquiry; the tools stop it getting lost along the way.

  • Digital marketing strategy: acquisition and awareness. Its question: "How can more customers find me?"
  • Digital strategy: acquisition, then handling enquiries, customer follow-up and management. Its question: "What happens once a customer contacts me?"

That's why the final question in our test is about managing your customers, quotes and invoices. An enquiry that arrives through your website and gets lost in an inbox is wasted marketing budget. If you're new to the subject, start with what a CRM is. At Eazyclick, your website and management tools live in the same space, an approach used with over 200 businesses supported since 2012.

Your digital marketing plan in 5 steps

To build a digital strategy, follow five steps: assess your online presence, set one or two measurable goals, rank actions by impact and effort, plan over three to six months with a budget, then measure and adjust. This plan fits on one page and should be reviewed every quarter.

  1. Take stock. How are your website, Google profile, reviews, social media, ads and customer follow-up doing? The digital maturity test covers it all in 10 questions and 2 minutes.
  2. Set one or two measurable goals. "More visibility" isn't measurable. "Twenty quote requests per month through the website by June", for example, is.
  3. Prioritise by impact and effort. Start with what delivers quickly at low cost: often your Google profile, reviews and mobile display. That's the thinking behind the AI-written audit you receive after the test: three to five actions, ranked by impact.
  4. Plan over three to six months, with a budget. A simple schedule: who does what, in which month, for how much. A digital communication plan doesn't need to be longer than one page.
  5. Measure and adjust. Check where your enquiries come from each month. Analytics Pro links every campaign, newsletter or post to the visits and sales it generated. Retake the test after three to six months to see what's improved.

The test's 4 digital maturity levels

The digital maturity test gives you a score from 0 to 100% and translates it into four levels: beginner, under construction, intermediate and advanced. Your level doesn't judge your business; it shows you where to start. A restaurant and an accountancy practice have different priorities, so the test takes your sector into account.

  • Beginner (0 to 34%): your digital presence isn't working for you yet. Priority: the basics, with a clear mobile website and a complete Google profile.
  • Under construction (35 to 59%): you've started investing, but without a clear plan your efforts are scattered. Priority: choose two or three actions and stick to them.
  • Intermediate (60 to 84%): the foundations are there, but some gaps are costing you customers. Priority: targeted adjustments, often to reviews, enquiry follow-up or measuring results.
  • Advanced (85% and above): your digital presence is strong. Priority: optimise what you have and grow what works, for example with regular content or better-managed advertising.

Your score arrives by email, with an AI-written audit based solely on your answers.

How much does a digital strategy cost for a small business in Belgium?

The digital maturity test comes with no obligation, as does the 30-minute call that can follow. Implementation does have a cost: at Eazyclick, our packs start at €69/month excl. VAT with a 24-month commitment, and you can also add a module on its own.

  • KickStarter: from €69/month excl. VAT and €249 setup, for a professional website that's live and listed on Google.

Full details of each plan are on the packs page. For a website on its own, our guide to website prices in Belgium compares market rates.

Regional grants may reduce the cost depending on your circumstances: chèques-entreprises business vouchers in Wallonia, or the digitalisation grant in Brussels. Our guides explain the conditions; always check eligibility with the Region.

Frequently asked questions about your digital strategy

What is a digital strategy for a small business?

For a small business, it's a short roadmap: where you are today, what you want to achieve in the next six months and the two or three actions that bring you closer. Review it every quarter, because your customers and channels evolve. Our 10-question test gives you that starting point.

What are the 5 key areas of digital marketing?

For an SME, the five areas are your website, visibility on Google and AI search (including your Google profile and reviews), social media, online advertising and customer relationships through email and CRM. There is no need to activate everything at once: start with your weakest area, the one highlighted by the test.

What is the difference between digital strategy and digital marketing strategy?

Digital marketing finds customers: SEO, advertising, social media, newsletters. Digital strategy includes this, but also what happens after first contact: tracking enquiries in a CRM, quotes, invoices and bookings. For a small business, this is often where customers already won are lost.

What exactly does the quiz measure?

Ten questions, around two minutes. You specify your sector, then the state of your website and its mobile display, your social media presence, content, visual identity, Google profile and reviews, online advertising, and how you manage customers, quotes and invoices.

What are the levels of digital maturity?

Our test identifies four levels based on your score: beginner (0 to 34%), building (35 to 59%), intermediate (60 to 84%) and advanced (85% and above). Each calls for a different priority, from basics such as a mobile-friendly website and Google profile to optimising what already works. Your sector is taken into account.

How is the audit written?

AI writes your audit using only your answers and sector: a summary of your situation, then three to five actions ranked by impact. It invents neither figures nor promises. If you want to go further, an Eazyclick expert reviews these priorities with you during a 30-minute call.

What happens after the quiz?

You receive your score and an AI-written audit by email, with priority actions for your sector.

To discuss it, book a 30 min call with no commitment: an Eazyclick expert reviews your results with you and answers your questions.

What do you do with my answers and contact details?

They are used to calculate your score, email your audit and prepare for a possible conversation with our team. You give consent by ticking the box before submitting, and can withdraw it at any time. Details are in our privacy policy.

Where should I start if I have little time?

Start with what your customers see first: a complete Google profile with opening hours and photos, a website that displays well on phones, and a few recent reviews. These are often the quickest actions to implement, and your audit will tell you which to prioritise.

Can Eazyclick put my priorities into practice?

Yes. Based on your audit, we build or redesign your website, improve your search visibility with SEO Boost, manage your social media and add useful modules: CRM, reviews, bookings, quotes and invoices. Our packages start at €69/month excl. VAT with a 24-month commitment, supported by a project manager.

How often should I retake the quiz?

Retake it once you have implemented your priorities or when your situation changes: a new website, social media launch or first ad campaign. For most SMEs, every three to six months is enough. Compare your score to see what has improved and what remains to be done.

Do I need paid tools?

No, not to get started. Your Google Business Profile, Google Search Console and social media statistics are enough to track the essentials, and an Eazyclick website already includes a dashboard. A paid tool becomes useful when you invest in advertising or content and want to know what every euro brings back, as with Analytics Pro.
