SumUp and Lightspeed appear in every search by Belgian retailers looking for a POS. Yet they do not sell the same thing. SumUp mainly sells a payment terminal: its Belgian website does not offer POS software. Lightspeed sells a complete POS with its own mandatory payment system. Eazyclick sells a POS connected to a bespoke online shop under your name, and works with a SumUp terminal. To avoid comparing apples with pears, here is what each actually does, what it costs and what ties you in.
At a glance
- SumUp is a terminal, not a POS. In Belgium, it has no POS software for sale. Its online shop takes 2,5 % of every sale.
- Lightspeed requires its own payments. Its rates are not published, and using another provider costs an extra €99/month under its contract.
- Lightspeed ties you in. Automatic renewal, 90 days' notice and, if you leave early, payment for the remaining term.
- Eazyclick connects your POS and your own shop: the same stock, the same customer database, your domain and 0 % sales commission. Payments go through your SumUp terminal.

What a retailer pays over 24 months
Assumption: one till, €15 000 in monthly in-store card payments and €2 000 in monthly online sales. In-store card fees are the same with SumUp alone and Eazyclick, as both use the SumUp terminal.
Over 24 months, excl. VAT | SumUp alone | Lightspeed Essential | Eazyclick POS + e-commerce |
|---|---|---|---|
POS software | aucun | 3 576 € | €1,466, setup included |
Online shop | €0 subscription | incluse | €3,386, bespoke design included |
Online sales commission | 1 200 € (2,5 %) | depending on the provider | €0 Eazyclick commission |
In-store card fees | around €3 800 | not published | around €3 800, through SumUp |
If you want your own payment provider | — | €2 376 (€99/month) | libre |
On paper, Lightspeed's software costs less. But its payment fees are not published, and that is where the bill is decided: each percentage point amounts to around €3 600 over two years in this scenario. With Eazyclick, you know what you pay, and the shop build is included; taken together, the POS and shop also receive a 10 % subscription discount.
What the pricing page does not tell you
Lightspeed: commitments and price rises
Lightspeed's contract automatically renews for the same term unless you give written notice 90 days before expiry. If you leave early, you pay the remaining recurring fees. Lightspeed scores 3,8 out of 5 on Trustpilot (2 515 reviews as of 01/10/2026). A customer of five years wrote on 28/07/2026: “Our subscription went from €1 548 to €2 244 a year, an increase of around 45 %”, announced “just before renewal, making it difficult to decide to switch providers” (review).
SumUp: a shop without a POS
The SumUp shop does not share stock with a POS, as none is available in Belgium. A French retailer wrote on 05/06/2026 that “the platform allows sales when stock is at 0” and that SumUp keeps its transaction fees when the customer is refunded (review). SumUp remains an excellent terminal, rated highly on Trustpilot (4,2 out of 5): it is the terminal we use ourselves.
The difference: your shop, your stock, your customers
With Eazyclick, the POS and online shop sell the same catalogue from the same stock. An item sold at the counter disappears from the website, and vice versa. Receipts are emailed or printed, closing the till produces a clear report, and every purchase joins the customer's record in your CRM.
And your shop is not a template: our designers create it around your brand, on your domain, with Google in mind. You pay no sales commission, and your project manager sets everything up.
When should you choose SumUp or Lightspeed?
- SumUp alone if you take few payments, do not manage stock and your online shop is secondary.
- Lightspeed if you have several shops, a very large catalogue and a team to manage a long contract.
- Eazyclick if you want a simple POS, a proper shop under your name and one shared stock, without commission or renewal traps.
