Many self-employed people in Wallonia look for a business voucher to pay for their website. The honest answer, in September 2026, is nuanced: no voucher pays for building the website itself, and the “digital maturity” voucher, the most widely used for digital projects, has been suspended since July 2026. Here is what is still available, what can help your web project and how to apply.
What is a business voucher?
Business vouchers (chèques-entreprises) are Walloon Region grants that reimburse part of the cost of consulting, training or support delivered by an accredited provider. They are aimed at SMEs and self-employed people whose main operating base is in Wallonia, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups.
According to the official portal, beneficiaries must have fewer than 250 people, with annual turnover below 50 million euros or a balance sheet total below 43 million. People who are self-employed alongside another occupation are also eligible. Applications must always be made before the service is delivered, on the cheques-entreprises.be platform.
Can a business voucher fund your website build?
No, not directly. Business vouchers fund consulting, training and support from an accredited provider, not the development of a website, online shop or a subscription. They can, however, fund an assessment, strategy or website security work that prepares or protects your web project.
Be wary of “free website with business vouchers” offers. If part of a service is presented as eligible for funding, ask the provider for their accreditation number and check on the portal that the service falls within the relevant voucher's scope.
Is the “digital maturity” voucher still available in 2026?
No, not for new applications. The “digital maturity” voucher has been suspended since 12 July 2026 while the Walloon Government reorganises its digital support around business transformation and artificial intelligence. Applications submitted before that date continue to be processed under the existing rules.

This voucher covered 50% of consulting fees, capped at €50,000 excl. VAT over three years (voucher details). We will update this guide when the new scheme is published.
Which vouchers remain useful for a web project in Wallonia?
Three vouchers remain useful around a web project: cybersecurity (75%, capped at €50,000 excl. VAT over three years) and, for aspiring entrepreneurs, “Business start-up training” (80%, capped at €6,000 excl. VAT) and “Business start-up advice” (75%, capped at €15,000 excl. VAT).
What they can cover in practice:
- Cybersecurity: a security audit of your website, customer data and access controls, followed by support to fix vulnerabilities. The portal says this support remains available to SMEs.
- Start-up advice: for a new business, support with commercial strategy, including the role of the website and online channel in the business plan.
- Start-up training: courses to learn how to manage part of your online presence yourself.
The portal also points to the Agence du Numérique's “Start IA” and “Tremplin IA” programmes for artificial intelligence projects. The amounts above come from the voucher list and may change: check them on the day you apply.
How do you apply for a business voucher?
To apply for a business voucher, first choose a provider accredited for the relevant voucher, obtain their quote, then submit your application on cheques-entreprises.be before work starts. Once accepted, you pay your share, the Region pays its share, and the service can begin.
The steps:
- Check your eligibility: operating base in Wallonia, business size and sector.
- Choose an accredited provider from the portal's directory for the exact voucher you want.
- Apply online with the provider's quote, before any work starts.
- Pay your share, then monitor the service and approve it on completion.
Note: since 17 July 2025, the portal has suspended new provider accreditation applications. Already accredited providers continue working as normal (portal news).
What if your business is in Brussels?
Walloon business vouchers do not apply in Brussels. The Brussels Region has its own digitalisation grant, which can cover 25% to 70% of website development or technical improvement work, capped at €10,000 per calendar year, with specific conditions for the provider.
Everything is explained, with official sources, in our guide to the digitalisation grant.
How else can you fund your website?
Without a grant, the simplest way to spread the cost of a website is a monthly subscription: a predictable monthly price including hosting, maintenance and updates, instead of a large upfront bill. That's the Eazyclick pack model, from €69 to €299/month excl. VAT.
Every pack includes a dedicated project manager. KickStarter gets a professional website online from €69/month excl. VAT, GlowUp adds customer management, and Booster adds SEO and two business modules. To put these prices in context, read how much a website costs in Belgium. We build websites for businesses throughout Wallonia, including in Namur, Liège and Charleroi.
Before putting an application together, our digital maturity test gives you an initial view of your priorities in 2 minutes. It does not replace an assessment by an accredited provider.
